Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Axtona ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use our website and services ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

Axtona operates an online marketplace for listings related to equipment, land, buildings, animals, tools, and services. For data protection inquiries, contact us at hello@axtona.com.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile. When you register or sign in (including with email/password or third-party providers such as Google), we may collect your name, email address, phone number, role (e.g. client or vendor), profile details, and verification-related information you choose to provide.

Listings and content. Information you include in listings, descriptions, photos, messages, reviews, and support requests.

Usage and device data. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, general location derived from IP or settings you provide, pages viewed, and timestamps. We may use cookies and similar technologies as described below.

Information from partners. Authentication providers (e.g. Google) may share basic profile data according to your consent and their policies. Hosting and infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the Service (accounts, listings, search, messaging);
  • Authenticate users and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam;
  • Communicate with you about the Service, support, and important notices;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to understand performance and plan features.

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement) where not overridden by your rights; consent where required (e.g. certain cookies or marketing); and legal obligations.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as language or region), protect the Service, and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may limit functionality.

6. Sharing and processors

We share information with service providers who assist us (e.g. hosting, database, authentication, email, analytics, customer support) under agreements that require appropriate protection. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets (with notice where required). We do not sell your personal information as "sale" is defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws; where required we honor opt-out rights.

7. International transfers

If we transfer data across borders (for example to servers in the United States or the European Economic Area), we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms permitted by law.

8. Retention

We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Backup copies may persist for a limited period. You may request deletion subject to legal exceptions.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is consent-based; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us at the email above. We may verify your identity before responding.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the Service where appropriate.
